Former World Wrestling Entertainment wrestler Maria Kanellis remembers the first time she stepped out from behind the curtain in front of millions of TV viewers.

“You get that sense that you have to go to the bathroom and you have to pee,”
Kanellis says, with a laugh over the phone. “Then you get the sense of, ‘Oh my gosh, this is really happening.’”

Kanellis will step into a different kind of ring Saturday afternoon when the “Diva Mania” tour stops at Starters Riverport in Bethlehem. Kanellis will be joined by former WWE Divas Ashley Massaro, Katarina Waters and Taryn “Tiffany” Terrell for a meet-and-greet autograph session.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the United Service Organizations.

“I miss my WWE fans,” Massaro says. “I can’t wait to give back to them.”

Kanellis and Massaro are no strangers to the armed forces. Kanellis’ brother briefly served in Iraq. Both Divas appeared multiple times on WWE’s “Tribute to the Troops” special.

“It was always a great experience and getting to give back to the troops and thank them for what they do every day,” Massaro says.

Kanellis and Massaro also did a two-week tour of U.S. Army bases overseas with former WWE wrestler Ron Simmons and manager Jimmy Hart.

“The biggest thing I’ve always gotten (from the troops) is ‘You smell so good,’ not just from the guys but the girls as well,” Kanellis says. “It was a little bit of home. (The women) don’t get to dress up and put on lipstick. It reminds them of being girly. It brightens up their day.”
